ALBERT GELDARD

A winger with Bradford Park Ave, Everton, Bolton Wanderers,
Darwen and England
Albert made his England debut on the 13th May 1933 against Italy at
the age of 19. Albert is the 10th youngest player ever to represent
England at full International level.
He is also the youngest player ever to turn out for a football
league game: At 15 years 158 days old for Bradford Park Ave v
Millwall on the 16th October 1929.
In all Albert won 4 England caps whilst with Everton.
A recurrent knee injury put him out of first class football in 1938
at the young age of 24.
He joined Darwen Football Club from Bolton Wanderers on semi-pro
terms shortly before the outbreak of the Second World War, He
returned to guest for Bolton Wanderers during the war years and in
1946 played only a few games for Darwen before the knee injury
finally forced him to retire from the game.
