Goalkeeper Harry was signed from Aston Villa on amateur
terms just before the 1930/31 season, he went on to become a member
of the most successful Darwen side of all time . Harry's most
forgetable or imfamous appearance was when he kept goal for Darwen
against Arsenal at Highbury in the third round FA cup tie in 1932
which Darwen lost 11-1. Arsenals biggest ever cup win and their
biggest ever win at Highbury, but dispite an injury he sustained to
his face during the match he had a outstanding game and recieved a
standing ovation at the end from the near 40,000 crowd. In 1932
Harry moved to Manchester United and according to Man united records
he is the only goalkeeper ever to represent them and never concecd a
goal. ( he played only one game against Liverpool before moving to
Stockport County)
