The photo above shows Albert Evans -- the left-full back with Aston villa in their defeat by Darwen 5-4 in the 1893 FA Cup. Taken with his wife in 1965 at the age of 93, Albert was the last surviving member of that great team.
Albert broke his leg three times during his playing career, and was unlucky never to have been capped by England.
In all Albert won 5 League Championship and 2 FA cup winners medals with the Villa
He travelled all over the world after his playing days were over, trying many jobs and even took part in the Canadian gold rush.
The framed photo behind Albert and his wife shows the Aston Villa team that won the coverted "Double" in the 1896/7 season.
